Grand Opening!

Some of you may be old enough to remember when I first reached out for input on a new design for my website. And how helpful your insights were! My uber-talented team took every ounce of your feedback into consideration when creating a new design, which was then revised and refined, reconfigured and refined again, poked and prodded, massaged and burped, then regarded and tweaked a bit more.

Before we knew it, almost two years had passed. I won’t pretend to have always been a model of patience, but getting it just right was our common priority, and that took a whole lot longer than we’d originally thought. I now understand the saying Good things come to those who wait. I hope you agree!

We’ve made lots of user-friendly updates based on your feedback:

• Easier, breezier category navigation
• 105 podcasts (and counting!) featured and categorized by topic
• Still no ads or pop-ups
• Extensive list of recommendations for books, toys and other equipment

We want to make this experience as good as it can be for you, so please share any thoughts you have for us here in the comments.

Without further ado, I’d like to introduce, thank, and recommend my A-Team:

Crispin Bixler, Web and Mobile Designer, Art Director, Motivational Leader, and Mother Hen

Sara Prince, Creative Director, Designer, and Photographer at JLML Press

Robert Miner, WordPress expert and Developer extraordinaire

I thank and laud you all!

  1. This is just brilliant Janet. The content has always been excellent but you’ve nailed the easy finding of it all now :0). Just did a quick search on ‘biting’ and love that the podcasts come up at the top of the results. This is what I use most on your website as I take the information in better when it feels like we’re chatting about it. And sometimes what you read in a book is hard to translate into a real life challenge with your child so remembering your phrases and most importantly tone of delivery is so helpful. Holding firm limits, with kindness and confidence is much easier with you in my pocket!

    1. Thank you for your kind feedback, Nic! I’m thrilled that the podcasts are helpful to you. I’m there all the way rooting for you. 🙂 You can do this.

  2. Congratulations! I’ve been following you for five years and you’ve literally changed my and my family’s lives. Thank you for your work! I love the new site!

Janet you have single handedly changed my life! I can’t wait for your website!!! Thank you for what you do

    1. Aww, you are so kind, Valen! This is the post announcing my new website! It’s already here! Please take a look around and tell mw what you think. 🙂

  4. Thank you, Janet! It was a pleasure to design the site and collaborating with the team! I’m looking forward to seeing how the updates help your readers find your content easier, including the podcasts that are now categorized.

And to your readers: thank you for your input and continued feedback! Your questions and thoughts help us improve the experience and are greatly appreciated. Thanks, everyone!

    1. I’m the luckiest person to have had the benefit of your hard work and expertise!

  5. Hi Janet!

First, I absolutely love your website and podcasts. They have taught us so much and have helped us put respectful parenting into action. I listen to the podcasts over and over and take notes!

I love the look and feel of the new website! One feedback / question: when I click on a topic (ex. play) it doesn’t appear that I see all the articles associated with that topic, only 2-4 suggested articles. I feel like I remember there being more articles that were tagged with a certain topic. How do I find all the articles associated with a topic? I might be missing something!

    Thanks so much!

    1. Hi Madeline! Thanks so much for your helpful feedback and kind words! Regarding the topics, I’m guessing you’re viewing my site from a mobile device? If so, you might be perceiving the “Janet Suggests” selections as everything for that topic. But there’s more! If you scroll down a bit you will see the entire list, which for most topics (like play) has many posts. It’s good to know that this may be confusing for people, so that we can take a look at making it clearer.

      Thanks again!
      Janet

  6. Your new website format is beautiful and easy to access. I’m not a facebook/twitter person, so thanks for keeping a .com site. You continue to be the best spokesperson for Magda’s ideas. Sorry I missed your Santa Cruz event.

My interest continues to be PI classes, connecting with, and encouraging parents and new students of Magda’s ideas. Our Bay Area Infant and Toddler Network (BATIN) is growing. LeeF
